Obama and the Middle East
True to what the policy wonks thought would happen, President Obama promoted the concept of pre-1967 borders to resolve the conflict between Palestinians and Israel. His speech was a mix of good thoughts, couched between insignificant, stale rhetoric and bad ideas. In some parts, he seemed to be channeling former President George Bush’s foreign policy when he spoke of promoting freedom and democracy.

The quick take away is that Obama is creating US policy that would force Israel to make concessions without the Palestinians making any concessions, and would provide no disincentive for Iran not to continue funding of Hamas and Hezbolla as they continue to kill Israelis.
